The Endless Pool:
Swim Smarter - Not Harder
Our state of the art endless pool is like a running treadmill. Water is pumped through a special grille onto the swimmer, replicating the experience of moving forward through still pool water.
However the swimmer actually stays in the same place in the pool right under the watchfull eye of their swimming teacher. This enables the teacher to clearly observe what the swimmer is doing, analyse their swim stroke, and give accurate and precise feedback on the spot.
Kids and those with special needs find this very encouraging.
It means that there is good communication as the swimmer can ask questions easily and see what the teacher is demonstrating as they swim.
Using the mirrors on the pool floor, the swimmer can observe their hand, arm and body movements while swimming.
This helps them learn what works best and learn faster. This is particularly helpful to adults, triathletes and club swimmers.
The teacher controlls the speed of the current against which the swimmer swims. You can learn to feel the different water pressures which helps the swimmer to get a better "grip" on it, develop proper technique, gain confidence and better co-ordination, and enjoy their swimming more.
Our experience suggests that 30 minutes training in an endless pool is equivalent in effort to over an hour (or more) in a standard pool.
So whether its knocking a few seconds off your personal best, or the swim endurance to leave you fresh for the bike ride in the triathlon we can help.
Swim smarter - not harder.
And because this is a special pool you can even have a DVD of your swim.
