Swimming Teachers
Head Coach
Luke Surplice
Luke has swam competitively since joining his first club at the age of 7yrs. During this time he has represented his club at County, Southern Counties and National Level. He is a member of Bracknell & Wokingham Swimming Club, where he swims in the masters section.
He holds an Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) Level 2 Teachers Certificate, and currently teaches at Bracknell & Wokingham Swimming Club, The Royal Berkshire Club and Wellington Sports Club.
He is experienced in teaching both kids and adults, both for social and competitive swimming, including those with special needs such as; dyslexia, fear of water, dyspraxia, autism, social and emotional communication disorder, attention deficit disorder (ADD), Downs syndrome, cerebral palsey & epilepsy.
Having worked with the endless pool for 5 years he has developed the use of underwater video cameras, DVD review and feedback to provide comprehensive swim stroke analysis and correction.
David McGuire.
David has been swimming from a very early age and has swam competitively in Counties, Southern Counties and Nationals for a number of years. His favourite stroke is freestyle in which his PB is 52 seconds for 100m and 1.58 for 200m. He has swum for Scotland and also competed in Modern Pentathlon. He holds a Level 1 ASA Teaching Certificate.
Alex Surplice
Alex has swum since he was 5 years old, competing at County and Southern County level. His favourite stroke is breastroke, and his PB for 100 m is 1.15 where he was county champion. He has spent many years competing in Modern Pentathlon, where he has been Age Group Champion, and competed at International Level. He holds a Level 1 ASA Teaching Certificate and teaches at Bracknell & Wokingham Swimming Club and a Swim School in Reading.
Philip Surplice
Philip has swum from age 5 yrs, played football, squash, badminton and competed in Modern Pentathlon in Monaco. He currently is a football coach and holds a Level 1 ASA Swim Teaching Certificate. He is also in the berkshire badminton squad.
